Submitting Word Files
Saving and Submitting Word Files for Assignments
If you are working on Word on your personal laptop/computer...
Save your work in a folder in your Documents folder or in OneDrive, if you have that installed on your computer.
By consistently using one folder for saving work for this class, it will help you not lose your files.
Name your files with a name that describes the assignment. For example: Weekly Writing 1 or WW1
This will help you not accidentally submit the wrong file. If all your files are named something like english, draft, or untitled, it's easy to lose the file and to accidentally upload the wrong one.
If you are working on Word online (i.e. through your browser)...
Name your file by clicking on the filename at the top of the browser window next to the blue Word icon. Typically, the filename will show something like "Document 1" until you rename it.
I strongly recommend choosing a descriptive file name like Weekly Writing 1 or WW1.
Download the file by going to File > Create a Copy > Download a Copy
The file will typically download to your Downloads folder.
Upload the file to this assignment by selecting the downloaded file.
If you are working in Google Docs...
Name your file by clicking on the file name at the top of the browser window. Typically, the filename will show something like "Untitled document" until you rename it.
I strongly recommend choosing a descriptive file name like Weekly Writing 1 or WW1.
Download the file by going to File > Download > Microsoft Word (.docx)
The file will typically download to your Downloads folder.
Upload the file to this assignment by selecting the downloaded file.
