For this first Weekly Writing assignment, please read the following before completing the assignment.
Most Weekly Writing assignments will be casual and to help you work towards your major research paper in the class. The expected genre and any other requirements can be found at the top of the assignment page.
Please write in your own voice and style for these assignments. I want you to focus on the ideas at this point and not worry about writing in an academic voice/style or worry about revising and proofreading these. I ask that you use paragraphs to break up ideas to help with readability, but you will not be marked down on grammar, spelling, or writing "quality" for these assignments.
I also ask that GenAI is not used for these assignments in any capacity. I genuinely want to hear your voice and your ideas, not your ideas or writing filtered through AI.

Option 1: For students who have a declare major or a plan for a major and career path
What is your major? Why is this interesting to you or why did you choose it? What do you plan to do with this major? (i.e. what career or possible careers are interesting to you?)
Option 2: For students who are undecided or still exploring options
What are some possible majors and/or careers that you are interested in? What about those are interesting to you? Which one(s) would you be interested in focusing on this semester as a starting place for your writing and research?
