For more information about these assignments, see the Weekly Writing Overview page.
For Weekly Writing 4, we will continue to explore AI in your potential field/career. This week we will look at new articles to get a sense of what is happening in the field. We will also start to work on evaluating sources for this assignment.
First, find at least three news articles on AI in your potential field/career. Read the articles and then save them as PDFs (Similar to WW3, you will be submitting them with this assignment).
Note: A news article should come from a newspaper (online or otherwise), not a company website or blog. Consider using AP news, news.google.com, or selecting "News" from a Google or Bing search to find the articles.
In a Word doc, write down and answer the following for each news source:
Name of article
Name of publication (i.e. name of newspaper)
Date published
Source assessment:
Is this article a news story or an opinion article? How can you tell?
Does the article seem biased? Based on opinion? Does it seem backed with research? How can you tell?
How does this article relate to the other articles you saved and read? (i.e. does it talk about different uses of AI? Does it take a similar or difference stance? etc.)
How does this article relate to the conversations you read/watched online for Weekly Writing 3?
Finally, upload the posts/videos and submit your Weekly Writing document to Canvas.
To create a PDF, follow these instructions:
Creating a PDF on Windows
Creating a PDF on Mac
Once you have saved the posts/discussions, you will need to upload it to the assignment in Canvas along with the document with your Weekly Writing on it.
