Instructions for ASC Feedback
Project 1 Peer Review Alternative
Creating an Appointment with the Academic Success Center
If you plan to use the Academic Success Center (ASC) to get feedback on your paper instead of in-class peer review, please follow these directions:
Make an appointment with the ASC as soon as possible. They may fill up quickly. See the instructions for using Penji for help using the app.
Choose the type of appointment you wish to have. For the peer review alternative, you can do either an in-person or Zoom appointment (not asynchronous).
Fill out the appointment form as follows. Feel free to copy/paste any of the wording.
In-Person or Zoom Appointments ONLY
Course subject, number, and instructor name: ENGL 1190, Karlis
What project are you working on? Ethnographic research paper. I'm looking for high and middle-order concern feedback, such as organization, paragraph development, using evidence, flow, etc. to replace a peer review for this draft.
What would you like to work on? Select whichever you want here (organization and paragraph structure are good options; you can also select "other" and just talk to the tutor when the session starts).
Remember to write down the date and time of your appointment in your calendar/planner!
When you meet with your tutor, remind them that you are looking for high and middle-order concern feedback (not feedback on later-order concerns like grammar, spelling, etc.)
Submitting Your Draft & Peer Review to Canvas
Once your appointment is complete, you will need to submit your rough draft and appointment info.
Upload your draft to the Canvas assignment.
Then also upload a PDF or screenshot of the email you receive from the ASC/Penji after your tutoring appointment.
